Araucania Ruca

Araucania Ruca

Ian from Designer Yarns came this morning. The picture is of Ruca which is a new Araucania yarn. It is made from Sugar Cane!!  It comes in gorgeous pastel colors and is very soft with a slight sheen.  There are no new Noro yarns except for Silk Garden sock yarn, and there are 4 new colors of Silk Garden Lite. There is a new book by Jenny Watson – More Noro Mini Knits.
Debbie has a new yarn and I will post a photo of it tomorrow. There are new colors of Pure Silk, Baby Cashmerino, Rialto 4 ply and Pure Cotton DK. Louisa has two new yarns and two new books. I will tell you more about them tomorrow.
Slip was very excited when Ian was here and I had to shut her out in the garden as she was rushing round the house and generally behaving badly!
John is out shooting and so we are not going out to eat tonight as he will be too tired. I am cooking a Chinese meal and then we may go for a drink. Back tomorrow!

Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran #005

Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran #005

I had a delivery of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran and DK, Baby Cashmerino, Noro Kureyon, Silk Garden and Silk Garden Lite, Kochoran and Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran today.  John was out and so I was able to smuggle it in!!
My chilblains are worse and my hands itch constantly. My fingers are swollen like little plump sausages! I do have some heated gloves somewhere – I shall fish them out.
I am in the process of adding a side menu bar to my site, this means I shall be able to enter extra categories such as “Special Offer of the Day” or “3 for the price of 2” – it just needs a bit more work on it.
Tomorrow Ian is coming and I will photo the new DB and Noro yarns! Back tomorrow!

Filatura di Crosa Winter 2008

Filatura di Crosa Winter 2008

Sorry I have been AWOL – the time goes so fast and it is bedtime before I know it.  Nothing exciting has happened. John went shooting yesterday and so I looked after Slip. She has been a bad dog again!!   Tomorrow I am expecting two new Filatura pattern books and also some DB Cashmerino in various weights.
My Veronica cardigan is progressing, I have finished the back and pocket linings and am now doing the left front. I hope to have it done before Christmas. Today’s photo is of the cover of the new Filatura book – there are some lovely designs to tempt you! Back tomorrow.

November 16th

We went to the Lemon Tree and it was excellent. On arrival, the wine waiter said that they were trying out some new wines and champagne and would we like try some?  I had a glass of champagne and John had a glass of a Spanish white wine.  I had peppered squid to start with and John had slow roasted belly of pork. For my main course I had duck with a bubble and squeak cake and stuffed peppers and John had fillets of plaice with mussles and mashed potato.  We were too full for a dessert!

Whilst we were eating the subject of our vacation came up and John definitely does not want to go Jamaica again. He does not like not being able to go outside the hotel grounds without a guard. He is quite adament and there is nothing I can do to change his mind.  So, I have come up with a compromise – Barbados.  I am considering the Crystal Cove hotel – click on the link and take a look. We will go in February.

I am in the midst of cooking roast beef for lunch and Slip is sitting by the oven!  She was VERY naughty last night – see her blog for details!  Back tomorrow.

November 15th

Tonight we are going out to dinner at the Lemon Tree. Click the link for photos and the menu! I have been there before but it was a long time ago.
I had my hair cut this morning and earned a parking ticket for overstaying my one and a half hours. I have a fine of £25 to pay and so it turned out to be an expensive hair cut!
Slip has been bitten – she has put the details in her blog. She is making the most of it and is sitting on John’s lap at the moment!  Now I am going to do some knitting and have a nap – I feel tired today!  Back tomorrow!

Rowan The Organic Kids Collection

Rowan The Organic Kids Collection

Today’s pic is of the designs in Rowan’s Organic Kids Collection which will be available in February.
My site is working correctly again and all links and pictures are restored – thank God!
It has been very wet here today and cold – I have just lit the fire much to Slip’s pleasure.
As the US dollar has become strong against sterling, all orders in my shop will have 10% automatically deducted from the price – it is easier for me to do it this way than by reducing the price of each individual item. The discount will be in place until sterling gets stronger against the dollar.
I have chilblains on my hands and knitting and typing are painful – they are very itchy and driving me mad. Now I am going to cook dinner – shepherds pie and new potatoes and peas followed by Spotted Dick and custard. Back tomorrow!
